Verizon is NOT my friend...
Finally back online after several days of being cut off. Between that, the hot water heater breaking down repeatedly and making showers NOT fun, and various other little annoyances that I won't get into, the past few days have been... Well, not at all enjoyable. (Didn't help my writing much, either. But I'll get to work on that as soon as I can.) Current Mood: annoyed | | Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 | | 2:01 am |
Well...
So, having seen most (I missed one 9-10 minute chunk of it) of the pilot of Stargate: Voyager Infinity Universe, I think I can safely say... I wasn't exactly blown away. (And I'm hoping that bit I missed didn't have some important part that would have explained everything.) To be fair, it is hard to make anything Stargate-related new and different, yet still be the same enough that the fans will still watch it. And the show does have promise. But it just needed... more. More what, I'm not sure I can say, but there was definitely something missing. But hell, the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation - the first season, even - wasn't exactly the best ever. And the pilot for DS9? Judging by that alone, you'd never have been able to guess the way the rest of the series turned out. So for now, I can only hope it gets better the more time they have to develop characters. I can afford to give it that time. Not like it's costing me anything - or that I don't have things to do in the meantime to keep me busy. ;) Current Mood: tired | | Friday, September 25th, 2009 | | 4:38 am |

You can't hide from me forever, muse!
Title: Do Not Go Quietly... (3/?) Author: obsidian179 Rating: PG-13, at least so far. Disclaimer: Grey's Anatomy is the property of ABC and Shonda Rhimes - though considering the treatment they've been giving it, I'm starting to think there should be some kind of DCFS-equivalent for television shows. Summary: This was NOT how Callie wanted to leave things... Author's notes: I've come to the realization that I hate moving. Not only does it take forever, disrupt my life, and require a LOT of boxes (more then I really had when I started), but it also seems to chase away the muse. But I'm finally all settled in, so let's get this show back on the road. ( She wished irony had a physical avatar, so she could punch it in the face. ) Current Mood: accomplished | | Thursday, June 4th, 2009 | | 5:23 am |

It's not an update, but it is something...
My first attempt at an actual music video. May not be the best ever, but... Well, hopefully you'll like it. Just wanted to make sure you guys knew I hadn't forgotten about you. ^_^ Current Mood: awake | | Sunday, April 5th, 2009 | | 2:05 am |

A rare non-fiction update.
I know, I know, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. As some of you may know, there are a few reasons for that, with the muse not liking winter being only one of them. I've been having a little computer trouble again, and since the last time that happened I had to buy an entirely new hard drive for my computer, this makes me nervous. Also, I've been in the beginning stages of moving (that is, looking for an apartment), and this is also distracting. Add to that having to work a very unfulfilling job at Wal-Mart (I've actually been looking for freelance writing work online, but as you can guess, that just takes up even more of my time) and the fact that the sister I see maybe a few times out of the year seems to care more about my upcoming birthday then the rest of my family put together (or much of anyone else, really), and maybe you can understand what's taking me so long. I don't want to make excuses (God knows, there's probably been a fair bit of laziness in there somewhere, too), but I thought that those who actually read my fic - and there must be SOME of you out there that do ;) - might want to know that I haven't forgotten about you. Oh, and for the one or two of you that might care - and you know who you are - my Amazon.com wishlist can be found here: . (Please note, this is not an attempt to ask for bribes or payment of any kind. Most of you can - and should, and probably will even without my saying anything - ignore that. Okay? Okay.) Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas...
Title: Sadhana Author: That'd be me. *grins* Andrew, Obsidian, call me what you want. But only if it's nice. ;) Rating: PG-13, I'd say. Comments: Another year, another Christmas story, right? This time, though... Well, it's going to be an AU of my AU story, which is a little weird, but in a good way, you know? Besides, the girls deserve this. This story ignores the events of Prometheus Unbound completely, picking up several months after the conclusion of Pantheon. Legal Disclaimer: I do not own 'D.E.B.S.', Angela Robinson does. Though if I had my way, there would have been a sequel or two by now. ;) ( I missed you, ) Current Mood: cold | | Saturday, December 13th, 2008 | | 1:44 am |
Let's just pretend this isn't QUITE as overdue as it really is, shall we?
Title: Do Not Go Quietly... (2/?) Author: obsidian179 Rating: PG-13, at least so far. Disclaimer: Grey's Anatomy is the property of ABC and Shonda Rhimes - though considering the treatment they've been giving it, I'm starting to think there should be some kind of DCFS-equivalent for television shows. Summary: This was NOT how Callie wanted to leave things... Author's notes: I apologize for the long wait, but sometimes the muse just doesn't want to cooperate, and this time of year, I don't have as much writing time as usual. Anyway, I did promise that I would include someone other then Callie and Mark in this chapter, so I will do just that. Maybe even more then one. ;) People may still well be OOC, I dunno. But given how the show's evidently been progressing, would that be such a bad thing? ;) And this chapter has music! All By Myself lyrics (modified as they are) by Eric Carmen, Leaving On A Jet Plane lyrics (lyric?) by John Denver, and This Time lyrics by Melanie Chisholm. And away we go... ( She was seriously beginning to regret asking Mark Sloan to drop her off at the airport that morning. ) Current Mood: tired | | Saturday, December 6th, 2008 | | 12:36 pm |

Pardon me while I momentarily switch fandoms...
Don't worry, I'm not abandoning any of my DEBS fics. This is just something I had to get out first. (Ye gods, FOUR stories at once. I must be insane. Title: Do Not Go Quietly... (1/?) Author: obsidian179 Rating: PG-13, at least so far. Disclaimer: Grey's Anatomy is the property of ABC and Shonda Rhimes - though considering the treatment they've been giving it, I'm starting to think there should be some kind of DCFS-equivilant for television shows. Summary: This was NOT how Callie wanted to leave things... Author's notes: You know, I've never written fic for a show that I've never actually seen a single episode of. (I have seen clips on Youtube and read the fic of others, though. Not quite the same, I know, but at least it seems to have spared me some monumental stupidity on the behalf of ABC...) However, I find that I can't quite just let this sort of thing go by unremarked upon. That, and the muse can be a sucker for some angst. Anyway, please forgive any mistakes or minor mischaracterizations. And away we go... ( Callie Torres was not typically the sort to be given over to introspection. ) Current Mood: busy | | Sunday, November 9th, 2008 | | 9:44 pm |
